Jakarta, June 12, 2026 — HUNDRED HOO HAA CUP 2026 officially kicked off today at ICE BSD City, Hall 1, marking the beginning of one of the most anticipated international open inclusive senior badminton tournaments in the global badminton community. Hosted at ICE BSD City, Hall 1, players from 14 countries competed across 25 courts simultaneously in a tournament designed to elevate the standard of senior badminton to a global level.
The inaugural edition of HUNDRED HOO HAA CUP 2026 welcomed participants from 14 countries, including Brunei, China, Canada, Colombia, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and India. This highlights that HUNDRED HOO HAA CUP 2026 is not merely a local tournament, but an international-level competition that has gained the trust and participation of the global senior badminton community in Indonesia.
Legends Return to the Court
The tournament became even more special with the participation of several international badminton legends and senior athletes who stepped onto the court. Among them was Brice Leverdez (France) — a former BWF Top 20 player, three-time Olympian (London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020), and the player who defeated badminton legend Lee Chong Wei at the 2017 BWF World Championships. Today, he continues to actively compete in international senior badminton tournaments.
Joining Brice were Chang Wen-Sung (Taiwan), Ewe Hock Ong (Malaysia), and Renu Chandrika Hettiarachchige (Sri Lanka), representing the spirit of competition without age limits from different parts of the world.
From Indonesia, badminton legends including Harijanto Arbi, Flandy Limpele, Bobby Ertanto, Joko Suprianto, Bambang Suprianto, Tri Kusharjanto, and Zelin Resiana also stepped onto the court alongside participants, bringing a sense of nostalgia and enriching the atmosphere of today’s competition.
Competition Categories
This senior badminton tournament features various categories for both amateur and professional players, divided into age groups ranging from 35+ to 70+. In addition to age-based categories, the tournament also includes several special categories, including 3 on 3 (combined total age categories of 120, 150, 180, and 200), Combined Age (90 and 110), the VVIP category featuring entrepreneur pairs competing with professional players, as well as the OPEN MAX.35 category, which is open to players under 35 years old with unlimited skill levels.
Each age group will feature Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles events, providing a comprehensive competitive platform for all participants.
Tournament Director of HUNDRED HOO HAA CUP 2026, Marlev Mainaky, expressed his excitement on the opening day, stating,
"Today is a true reflection that our dream has become a reality. Seeing players from more than a dozen countries come together and compete while bringing the spirit of their respective backgrounds is exactly what we have been striving for. This is only the beginning."
Co-Founder of HUNDRED HOO HAA CUP 2026, Marcia Hutagalung, added:
